We are pleased to announce that the kick-off meeting of the HortiQD project under the Horizon Europe program was held. The project will involve collaboration between European companies and excellent research centers, including Fraunhofer (Project Coordinator).
The aim of the project, which falls within the AgriFoodTech area, is to develop an artificial vision system for use in agriculture, in particular in intensive orchards and vegetable gardens, with the aim of increasing yield and improving the quality of crops while simultaneously reducing the use of pesticides.
With a duration of 36 months, the project is a step closer to using IT and automation technologies for more sustainable farming methods that can successfully mitigate the effects of climate change. The HortiQD consortium is dedicated to developing cutting-edge technologies that will benefit the agri-food industry and will accelerate the transition to a secure, reliable, and sustainable supply chain.
